Actress Rashida Jones, best known for her role as ‘Karen Filippelli’ on the NBC comedy series ‘The Office’ told the world that the highly-anticipated comedy-drama film written and directed by Sofia Coppola had been released.
Jones, the director of the first episode of Netflix’s ‘Hot Girls Wanted,’ released the good news through her verified Instagram account. The actress included a snap from the movie, and wrote the following message as a caption:
“On The Rocks is out in the world!! See it in select theaters now (& some drive-ins, which is cute) and it comes to @appletv in three weeks! #ontherocks @a24”
A shortly before, Jones also posted another message through Instagram regarding the movie that had its world premiere at the New York Film Festival on September 22, 2020, and expressed how much she was happy to be a part of it:
“What an absolute gift to be in this movie. This shoot came at a very difficult time for me. But being surrounded by these enormous talents was not just a career dream come true…it also felt like a sort of salvation; work can be meaningful on many levels like that. So grateful to Sofia and Bill and @marlonwayans and all the other bright lights in the cast and crew.”
‘On The Rocks’ that focuses on a father/daughter relationship had already released in a limited theatrical release on October 2, however, it came to Apple TV+ on October 24. As soon as the film starring Bill Murray alongside Jones, received positive reviews from critics. What’s more, as might be expected, Murray was praised for his performance.
