Rebecca Hall used to play a smaller part in Monsterverse, but now her role in ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ makes her feel like she’s in charge — she calls it having ‘Big Boss Energy.’
Rebecca spoke to ComicBook.com and joked about not fully understanding her character’s new job. However, it seems she loves the energy it brings:
“I feel like in the time that has elapsed since the first one and this film, she’s definitely had a substantial job promotion. I don’t even know how you would entirely describe what she does. “It’s almost like she runs PR for the Titans. She’s looking after everyone. She’s making tough decisions and she’s also looking after a teenage child. So there’s a lot to play with as an actor, and it was fun to come in with slightly more; I guess ‘boss energy’ is the phrase that I’m looking for… BBE, Big Boss Energy.”
Rebecca returns as Dr. Ilene Andrews in ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.’ If you’ve seen ‘Godzilla vs. Kong,’ you’ll remember her. But her job has grown a lot this time. Dr. Andrews is keeping an eye on Kong and his home in the Hollow Earth, and she’s become very important at Monarch.
Her Co-Star Says Humans Are Important In Monsterverse
Kaylee Hottle recently said that humans like Dr. Andrews are important in the story. She claims that humans play a big part in understanding the giant monsters even though the movie is full of them:
“The monsters have their own world, and we humans are trying to understand that world. We’re trying to find that path that connects us. So there’s Jia. She’s also a human, so she’s able to connect to those people in the human world with her (Hollow Earth) tribe as well.”
The new movie doesn’t just focus on the people, though. It gives a lot of time to the monsters and shows them as characters with their own personalities. This is a bit different from the previous movies, as they had more human characters.
