Robert Pattinson recently revealed in an interview with The New York Times that some people still associate him only with his role as Edward Cullen in the ‘Twilight’ franchise and shared an incident at passport control where he had to remind an immigration officer that he plays Batman in Matt Reeves’ batman epic crime saga as well.
“Hey, you’re the guy from ‘Twilight,’” the actor recalled the officer saying as he and his fiancée Suki Waterhouse checked in for a trip to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, “‘Why’d you stop acting?’ I was like… ‘I’m Batman?’ She just laughed.”
Pattinson rose to fame through the ‘Twilight’ movies, adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s book series, which concluded in 2012 with ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2.’
After the franchise finale, he appeared in more projects like David Cronenberg’s ‘Cosmopolis,’ the Safdie brothers’ ‘Good Time,’ Claire Denis’ ‘High Life,’ Robert Eggers’ ‘The Lighthouse,’ and Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet.’ His performance as Batman in 2022’s ‘The Batman’ received general praise from viewers and critics.
Pattinson is soon to reprise his role in the sequel, titled ‘The Batman – Part II.’ Filming for the movie will begin in April next year. That same month, his latest project, ‘Mickey 17,’ will also hit theaters.
