Why Was ‘Batman 2’ Delayed?
It’s been two years since Reeves’ film ‘The Batman’ came out in 2022. In ‘The Batman Part II,’ Pattinson returns as Bruce Wayne, and Jeffrey Wright will play Jim Gordon again. Like the first film, it will be part of the DC Elseworlds series, separate from the main DC Universe. Details about the story are still secret, with Reeves and Mattson Tomlin writing the script.
Many DC fans are eager for ‘The Batman – Part II,’ but there are several reasons for its delay. Originally, filming was set to begin in November 2023, with a release planned for October 2025. However, the 2023 WGA strike pushed the release to 2026, causing a major delay in Hollywood. Now, filming is expected to start in 2025.
The first ‘Batman’ movie also faced delays. It was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, with multiple pauses in production. Pattinson even tested positive for COVID, causing more delays. The 2022 film made over $772 million worldwide and received great reviews and four Academy Award nominations.
Other actors in ‘The Batman’ are Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Colin Farrell as Penguin. Barry Keoghan also made a cameo as The Joker.
