Robert Pattinson Teams Up With ‘Smile’ Director To Revive A Cult Horror Movie

The two are currently working on a 1981 horror film remake.

Robert Pattinson and Parker Finn are coming together for a new take on Andrzej Zulawski’s ‘Possession.’

A24, Netflix, Paramount, Sony, and Warner Bros. are reportedly all competing to secure the film rights. The project is in its early stages, with more meetings and possibly more bidders expected soon.

Finn is set to write, direct, and produce under his Bad Feeling production company along with Robert Pattinson’s Icki Eneo Arlo and Roy Lee from Vertigo Entertainment. Pattinson’s role as an actor will be decided as the project moves forward.

The 1981 Original And Its Remakers

‘Possession’ originally took place in West Berlin and starred Sam Neill and Isabella Adjani. The plot followed a spy who returned home to find his marriage falling apart, leading to a series of dramatic and supernatural events.

The film didn’t receive much positive attention but later became a cult classic for its storyline mirroring the director’s own marital issues. Its commercial potential also gathered attention from executives. Talks about the new remake’s marketing are up at the moment.

Parker Finn recently entered the post-production stage for ‘Smile 2.’ Robert Pattinson last appeared on 2022’s ‘The Batman’ and is now set to star in Bong Joon Ho’s ‘Mickey 17.’
