Robin Wright, the eight-time Primetime Emmy Award-nominated actor went to Instagram on March 5 with an open-letter devoted to her directorial debut ‘Land.’
The former ‘House Of Cards‘ star, who is portraying ‘Edee Mathis‘ in the film, released a photo of the letter she wrote and stated that ‘Land’ is a perfect reflection of the real-life that is full of tragedy. In her letter, she wrote:
“We are all aware of so much tragedy in our world…and for a long time, I have felt a pained awareness of those left behind in the aftermath. What happened to them? How did they find their way?”
Expressing that the film, starring Demián Bichir and Kim Dickens alongside her, is focusing on a story of a woman’s “journey to find her lost self after the life she knew changed in seconds,” Wright continued:
“@landthefilm weaves together the connection of people that are fractured by traumatic events and builds bridges between them through human understanding.”
Regarding the film, which had its world premiere at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and received high praises from the critics, Wright said the followings and concluded her letter:
“The essence of this narrative is…we need each other. Acts of kindness, in this case to a stranger, can heal and change lives.”
‘Land’ will be theatrically released in the US on February 12, by Focus Features.
