According to recent news from Jeff Sneider, Sam Raimi, who directed ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ has ‘all-but closed a deal’ with Marvel Studios to direct the next movie in the franchise.
The 2022 ‘Doctor Strange’ sequel was a major box office success for both the studio and the filmmaker, earning $950 million worldwide, despite mixed reactions from fans.
Rumors previously suggested that Kevin Feige wanted to work with the ‘Spider-Man’ director again and at one point, considered him a top choice for ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’
‘Doctor Strange 3’ is still in the early stages of development, and plot or cast details are under wraps. But Benedict Cumberbatch is already eager to reprise his role as the titular hero.
When asked about a possible third film by the New Indian Express a couple of years ago, the actor shared, “I hope so. I would love to do another one. Doctor Strange is such a complex character and it feels like there is so much more to explore with him. He is such a brilliant character and I’m still having a wild time playing him.”
Charlize Theron’s return as Clea also seems likely, given her appearance in the post-credits scene of the last movie, where she brought Doctor Strange on a new mission.
‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ starred Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams alongside Theron and Cumberbatch.
