Rumor: ‘The Beatles’ Biopic Has Finally Found Its Fab Four

There will be four movies, and each will tell the band’s story from four different perspectives.

The upcoming Beatles biopic casts the actors who will play the band members.

According to insider Jeff Sneider, Sony Pictures choose Harris Dickinson to play John Lennon, Paul Mescal to play Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan to play Ringo Starr, and Charlie Rowe to play George Harrison.

Sony Pictures announced in February that director Sam Mendes is working on four different Beatles movies. Each movie will focus on a different member of the band. These movies will show the story of The Beatles from four different points of view, but they will all come together to tell one big story.

This biopic is the first time Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles gave full rights to use their life stories and music in a scripted film. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, along with the families of John Lennon and George Harrison, all agreed to this.

There’s a Long Wait Ahead

Sam Mendes is excited about telling the story of The Beatles. Producer Pippa Harris also shared that having The Beatles’ blessing for this project is a great honor:

“We intend this to be a uniquely thrilling, and epic cinematic experience: four films, told from four different perspectives which tell a single story about the most celebrated band of all time. To have The Beatles’ and Apple Corps’ blessing to do this is an immense privilege. From our first meeting with Tom Rothman and Elizabeth Gabler, it was clear that they shared both our passion and ambition for this project, and we can’t think of a more perfect home than Sony Pictures.”

Mendes is known for ‘American Beauty,’ ‘Road to Perdition,’ and ‘1917.’ He is also the director behind James Bond movies ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Spectre.’ Mendes will direct and produce the Beatles biopics along with Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor from Neal Street Productions.

Jeff Jones, the CEO of Apple Corps and executive producer of ‘The Beatles: Get Back’ docu-series, will also be an executive producer.

Sony Pictures will release all four Beatles movies in theaters worldwide in 2027. The exact release dates and order of the movies haven’t been announced yet.
