Ryan Gosling Addresses His Future As Ghost Rider In MCU

He recently hinted at his interest, but nothing is confirmed yet.

Ryan Gosling might be the next big superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz to promote ‘The Fall Guy’ with Emily Blunt, Gosling dodged questions about becoming Ghost Rider. Instead of giving a direct answer, he and Blunt joked around. Blunt mentioned how she thought Gosling wouldn’t do superhero movies:

“Do you remember, Josh, when you asked me about Ryan being in a superhero and I said ‘No, Ryan, he would never do it.’ I thought we wore it as a badge of honor that we weren’t in superhero movies.”

But Gosling denied this and showed he is still open to the idea:

“No, you do.”

You can watch that part of the interview below.

It All Started In 2022

Gosling was on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz that year. They talked about rumors of Gosling playing Nova, another Marvel character, but Gosling said he wasn’t interested in Nova and would rather play Ghost Rider.

The excitement grew when Horowitz asked Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige about Gosling playing Ghost Rider at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Feige responded positively, saying he would love to find a role for Gosling in the MCU. He even joked about how much attention Gosling gets when he dresses up:

“Hey man, if Ryan wants to be Ghost Rider… I’d love to find a place for him in the MCU. He’s dressed up as Ken on Venice Beach and gets more press than giant movies coming out that weekend. It’s amazing.”

There are also rumors that Ghost Rider might appear in the next ‘Doctor Strange’ movie. The role could be announced later this year or early next year. Norman Reedus is also interested in playing Ghost Rider and even said he’s ready to bring his own motorcycle to the set.
