Ryan Reynolds might not be done playing ‘Deadpool,’ if his latest Instagram posts are anything to go by.
Reynolds recently shared a couple of mysterious photos that make us wonder what he could be working on next. In one post, Reynolds is dressed in his Deadpool costume, writing, “That was fun today.” In another, he’s posing with Leslie Uggams, who plays Blind Al in the ‘Deadpool’ movies, in front of a festive version of their characters’ apartments. Reynolds captioned this one, “Got to see the gorgeous, legendary, one and only, Leslie Uggams.”
It’s unclear what Reynolds is teasing. Some think it could be a new Deadpool project possibly related to the holidays. Others wonder if it’s a new version of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ similar to ‘Once Upon a Deadpool,’ but with less adult content. Another theory is that this could just be an ad to promote ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’s Blu-ray and DVD release, it’s streaming on Disney+, or even one of Reynolds’ businesses.
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ became the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time, and this caused rumors of a sequel. The movie made over $1.31 billion worldwide passing ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ and reaching 21st on the list of highest-grossing movies ever. It also outperformed ‘Avengers’ by earning $622 million in the U.S. alone.
There’s no confirmation yet, but there are reports that Marvel Studios is talking about a sequel. Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are both interested in returning but haven’t confirmed anything. There are also rumors that the two could appear in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ in the future.
