Channing Tatum responded to Ryan Reynolds’ promise of a Deadpool cameo in ‘Gambit.’
On November 12, Tatum shared an Instagram post from Reynolds, where he hinted that he would be open to joining Tatum for another project. Tatum played the X-Men hero Gambit in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’
Reynolds’ original post was a quote he shared on Instagram on September 7, through the Marvel fan account MCU.Portal. In the quote, Reynolds promised to make a Deadpool cameo in a solo Gambit movie if needed.
“When he makes a Gambit movie, I’ll return the favor,” Ryan said in a previous Instagram Story. “If he needs a Deadpool, I can do that. Someone to provide fresh orange slices to the crew, no problem. Name it.”
Tatum referred to his co-star as the ‘best human ever’ in his response on Tuesday and added, “Also, this is a binding contract.” Tatum added a gold ‘True Story’ gif at the bottom of his Instagram Story.
Reynolds told Entertainment Weekly’s Awardist podcast earlier this month that he’s not sure if ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ will have another movie, but he knows Tatum did an amazing job.
The actor explained, “I honestly don’t know what goes on behind closed doors in the bookkeeping sessions at Marvel, but I do know that they’re obsessed with him in that role. It’s kind of like the same situation I went through. Once you show that it works well, that’s really what they need. Sometimes they just need to see it in action.”
“And Channing is so singular in how he plays that character,” Reynolds continued. “But also he’s so beautiful physically, the way he moves and the way he can pick up steps.”
Tatum will next star with actress Cate Blanchett in a movie called ‘Alpha Gang.’ The film, directed by the Zellner brothers, will also feature Dave Bautista, Steven Yeun, Léa Seydoux, and Riley Keough. ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is now streaming on Disney+.
