Samuel L. Jackson Wants To See Nick Fury Battle In Wakanda

He hopes to see Fury visit Wakanda in a future Marvel movie.

Samuel L. Jackson recently talked about his long career with Marvel and shared his wish to take Nick Fury to Wakanda.

Speaking to GQ, Jackson said he still wants more for Nick Fury. He said that other Black actors in the MCU had the chance to appear in Wakanda except Fury. “All the Black people in the Marvel Universe were trying to figure out, ‘Why can’t we go to Wakanda?’ Me, Don, Anthony Mackie… but they made it. They got to go fight. I still didn’t get there,” he lamented.

He also thought Nick Fury should’ve been part of ‘Captain America: Civil War’ to stop the young heroes from fighting. “The kids are fighting, and I’m not gonna make them go to their rooms? How does that make sense?” he said.

Jackson first joined the MCU with a nine-picture deal that began with 2008’s ‘Iron Man.’ He was surprised by how quickly he used up that contract, completing nine movies in a short time.

Jackson explained that when he first heard about the deal from Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, he thought it would take a while to finish. “How long do you have to stay alive to make nine movies? It’s not the quickest process in the world,” he said. Marvel produced those films faster than he expected, and he didn’t realize they would get through them so quickly.

Nick Fury didn’t have much screen time in ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ but he came back as a main character in ‘Secret Invasion’ and ‘The Marvels.’ These projects didn’t do as well, though. Jackson hopes Fury can end his MCU story on a high note before the Multiverse Saga concludes.
