The ‘Sex and the City’ star Sarah J. Parker went into action to support local & small businesses that the COVID pandemic impacted severely.
Parker asked a favor of Citi Bike through Instagram to save a 100-year-old New York City eatery, and wrote as follows:
“As we all know small businesses all over the country and those here at home, uniquely NY are desperate to survive and open their doors and or sidewalks safely, responsibly and in compliance with the law in order to welcome back their long time and new customers. But we have to be supportive and work together so that we might sooner than later return to a version of our vibrant and dynamic city.”
The actress, who received two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, continued by pointing out that the restaurant means to her & her family:
“This 100-year-old restaurant was bought by the current owner’s father in 1979 after emigrating from Spain and starting as a waiter. His son David Ramirez is the current owner and 73 11th st is a destination for countless in the community. My family among them.”
Then, the ‘Did You Hear About the Morgans?’ called Citi Bike for taking action regarding the issue:
“I’m happy to help move the @citibike rack just a bit east to make room for some outdoor seating. Whatever it takes. If we say we are supportive of our small businesses, we have to mean it.”
She concluded her message as follows:
“There must be a solution.”
