‘Sex and the City‘ alum Sarah Jessica Parker shared a poetry-like post dedicated to her son, James Wilkie in honor of his 18th birthday.
Through her verified Instagram account, Parker, who won four Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance in the said series, uploaded a series of childhood photos of James Wilkie and added a caption that reads:
“October 28th, 2020
My beloved son, James Wilkie,
On this day, you are 18 years old.”
Then the actor, who does not prefer to reflect her family life to the public, expressed with the following lines that how she was astonished her son grew that fast:
“I marvel at the passing of those years
but equally the young man you are becoming.
My love for you is an ache and an honor.”
Parker at the last verse of her birthday message referred to the forthcoming US election by calling her boy as “my first-time voter:”
“As you leap toward and into your future,
I remain your privileged and steadfast confidant and joyful witness to the year ahead.
Happy birthday my first time voter.”
As fans might remember, Paker welcomed James Wilkie on October 28, 2002, with her husband, actor Matthew Broderick; almost 5 years after she had married him in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
Back in May, Paker also took to Instagram in order to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the marriage with Broderick. She posted a photo of herself with the actor, from the wedding day, and added the following note:
“May 19th, 2020. 23 years. We’ve come a long way baby.”
