Sarah Michelle Gellar talked about ‘Dexter: Original Sin’ during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. She revealed that working on the set, despite its gruesome and grisly nature, no longer fazed her as she had become desensitized to the horrific scenes.
Seth Meyers asked Gellar if she ever felt a sense of recoil while on set, considering how gruesome and grisly the events appeared.
Gellar responded, “There’s, like, body parts all over and blood and heads. And at one point, the director actually said to us, “Uh, can you guys, like, actually act like this is horrifying?” Because you do — you get so desensitized to it. And it’s like, for me, I’m just like, “Oh, God, I really don’t want to get my foot stuck in that blood.” You know, that’s, like, I’m trying to avoid it. But you do get very desensitized.”
‘Dexter: Original Sin’ is a prequel series to ‘Dexter.’ Gellar played Tanya Martin, a forensics expert for the Miami Metro Police Department who becomes Dexter Morgan’s new boss.
