Fans speculated for some time that Sarah Paulson would be joining ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ as Rouge the Bat, but the actress debunked these rumors during a recent interview with ComicBook.
“Nobody has called me about playing Rouge the Bat, but I would like them to.” she noted. “No one has asked me to do this, so whatever that rumor is, I can debunk for you right now. But if someone wants to call—if you want to send it to the people who make it happen, I am down to.”
News has confirmed Ben Schwartz, Idris Elba, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey’s return in the new installment as well as Keanu Reeves’ addition as Shadow the Hedgehog. Rumors about Paulson’s involvement began after a potential storyline for the movie mentioned her name a few years ago.
The speculation increased when a page for the movie listed Paulson as Rouge the Bat, though this now turns out to be a Wiki vandal’s doing. The character’s appearance in the film is also uncertain at this time.
Although Paulson is not in the new ‘Sonic’ movie, she will return to screens in Hulu’s ‘Hold Your Breath.’ The psychological horror-thriller will arrive on October 3.
Meanwhile, ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ is set for release on December 20.
