Sarah Paulson revealed that she might be coming back to ‘American Horror Story.’
During an appearance on Good Morning America, Paulson shared that there’s a ‘big chance’ she could return to the horror series for the upcoming season. “I’ve got everything crossed,” she said, adding, “I would like to do it more than anything. It’s my home. It’s where I started.”
Paulson explained that one of the things she loved about ‘American Horror Story’ was being able to play seven different characters in seven years. She said that experience allowed her to try many different roles and helped her grow as an actor. “It is the most exciting, thrilling thing,” she admitted, “and also allows an audience to be ready for anything you’re going to do because they’re not attached to one thing that you do, specifically. That has given me a lot of career flexibility.”
Paulson hasn’t been seen on ‘American Horror Story’ since 2021’s ‘Double Feature,’ where she played Tuberculosis Karen and Mamie Eisenhower. She first appeared in the show back in 2011 with the ‘Murder House’ season, and she acted in ten seasons since then. The only seasons she missed were ‘1984’ (Season 9), ‘NYC’ (Season 11), and ‘Delicate’ (Season 12).
The actress seems excited about the idea of coming back, but she once joked in 2022 that viewers might be getting tired of seeing her in the same world. “Let someone else scream and run and cry for a second. Other people can do that too! Also, my nervous system. There was a time when I was younger when I was like, ‘I can do this all night. I love it!’ Now I’m like, ‘Momma’s tired!'”
There’s no official confirmation yet, but if Paulson does return, it might be for Season 13. The show’s co-creator Ryan Murphy recently hinted that the new season may arrive sooner than fans expect. He also said that he talked to Paulson and Evan Peters about their potential return.
Paulson is also set to appear in Murphy’s upcoming legal drama ‘All’s Fair.’ She’ll share the screen with Kim Kardashian and Glenn Close.
