Scarlett Johansson Is Back To MCU With Thunderbolts*

Her Black Widow previously said goodbye sacrificing herself in 2019’s ‘Avengers: Endgame.’

Scarlett Johansson is back on board with Marvel after reprising her role in 2021’s ‘Black Widow.’ According to a recent press release, she will serve as one of the executive producers for ‘Thunderbolts*.’

The actress’s previous work as producer in ‘Black Widow’ resulted in a lawsuit against Disney due to the film’s simultaneous release in theaters and Premier Access. Still, earlier reports confirmed that she would rejoin Marvel’s Kevin Feige on another project.

Her return followed Chris Evans’s appearance as the Human Torch in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ and Robert Downey Jr.’s new role as Doctor Doom.

‘Thunderbolts*’ is scheduled for release on May 2, 2025, to wrap up the MCU’s Phase 5. The movie follows Marvel’s anti-heroes on a government mission, giving them a chance to redeem themselves.

The cast includes Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, and Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, among others. The trailer for ‘Thunderbolts*’ is already out.
