Well-known star of fan-favorite sitcoms, Alia Shawkat goes on showing her support to her home country Palestine.
On May 17, the actor, who starred in ‘State of Grace,’ ‘Arrested Development‘ and ‘The Final Girls,’ jumped into her social media accounts and released a couple of shots from the streets of Palestine, which hit by Israeli warplanes.
Alongside the photos, the Palestine-based star wrote the following message as a caption:
“It’s difficult for me to be personal on this app. But as I watch what is happening in Palestine it is hard for me not to share. I’ve spent some beautiful times in Palestine and have many dear to me who are there now. I pray for their safety and hope that this conversation continues.”
The ‘Search Party’ actor, who recently stated that she has grown up always “pro-Palestine” called people to speak out about what’s going on in Palestine. In her own words:
“It is time to not be scared to talk about the conflict there and to support a free Palestine. May we try to change the injustices in the world with our voices. Long live Palestine from the river to the sea x.”
As fans might remember, the 32-year-old actor took to her verified Instagram account in previous days and expressed her solidarity with the people of Palestine by sharing a photo of herself wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh. At that time, the actor stated:
“The Israeli government and settler organizations are collaborating to ethnically cleanse Palestinians out of the Silwan and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhoods of Jerusalem.”
Until the attacks stop, the well-known star seems to share posts through social media accounts in order to stop violence in the city of Jerusalem.
