Hollywood actor Selma Blair took to her verified Instagram account the other day to express her excitement regarding the release of her film debut, which is a documentary on herself.
The ‘Anger Management’ star released the screenshot of a report of DEADLINE announcing the news, and added a lengthy caption to herald that the documentary titled ‘Introducing, Selma Blair‘ will have its premiere at the 2021 SXSW Film Festival. In the caption, the ‘In Their Skin’ star wrote:
“I am beyond pleased and proud to have discovery+ be the home for my film ‘debut’ and for believing in the power of storytelling as a way to connect us all.”
Regarding the documentary which focuses on her years of journey living with Multiple Sclerosis, Blair added:
“I may be the subject of this film but my hope is that everyone sees themselves in it and finds some strength and joy they may not have known they had.”
The actor concluded her words by announcing that the documentary directed by Rachel Fleit and produced by Troy Nankin, Mickey Liddell, and Pete Shilaimonwill be released later this year.
What’s more, in a press statement, the director of the documentary, stated that her connection with Blair was instantaneous, and described her as “disarming, charming, raw, real, and true.” Fleit continued concerning the film:
“I wanted to tell this story about a different way of being in the world. I am humbled and honored that Selma trusted me to tell her story. I couldn’t be happier to be part of the discovery+ family.”
