‘Snowpiercer’ actor Daveed Diggs joined the cast of ‘The Boys’ Season 5 for a secret role.
Diggs’ role hasn’t been revealed yet, and ‘The Boys’ announced it on their social media with a funny comment, “That’s all ya get for now.” Diggs has become a popular actor in Hollywood in recent years.
He has roles in ‘Trolls Band Together,’ ‘Soul,’ and ‘The Little Mermaid’ while also working on ‘Snowpiercer’ and ‘Central Park.’ Diggs played LaFayette and Thomas Jefferson in ‘Hamilton,’ earning a Tony Award and a Grammy for that role. After Hamilton, he won an Independent Spirit Award for ‘Blindspotting’ and acted in ‘Wonder’ and ‘Black-ish.’
The fourth season of ‘The Boys’ is now on Prime Video and leads into the final season. In the last season, chaos reigns as Victoria Neuman nears the presidency under Homelander’s control. Butcher has only months to live after losing Becca’s son and his job. The rest of the team is tired of Butcher’s lies and must work together to save the world. The team hasn’t finished writing the fifth season yet.
‘The Boys’ is known for its violent scenes and surprising deaths. Most characters are not very good, and the few good ones often have tough lives. The show’s creator Eric Kripke hinted in August that those who die in the next season will deserve it.
He said, “Anyone who dies in season five will richly deserve it, I’ll just say that. We have a certain sense of who lives and who dies. We don’t have it all totally figured out, but you get to do the final season of the show, and you get to go out on your own terms, so not everyone’s making it through.”
“I think it’s going to be a whirlwind season,” Giancarlo Esposito also told Deadline about the fifth season. “Every show that comes to an end has an explosive ending in its final season, and ‘The Boys’ is just such a very outrageous show, but also reflective of the world we live in now. When superheroes have the power to not only save us, but to harm us, that’s an interesting show.”
In an interview for Season 4, Kripke said that making Season 5 will take at least two years. This means the last season could come out as early as mid-2026.
