Rumors surrounding ‘Spider-Man 4’ have been circulating recently. According to MTTSH, the latest version of the script is set to undergo a major rewrite after reports surfaced that Kevin Feige is unhappy with it. There is even speculation that the project could be canceled altogether.
Apparently, while Tom Holland approves of the story, Feige does not. The project is “now rewriting it and changing everything. The script isn’t ready yet and won’t be for a while.”
This isn’t the first time disagreements have arisen regarding the ‘No Way Home’ follow-up. Previous reports claimed that Feige and Sony’s Tom Rothman had clashed over the direction of the movie. Feige reportedly wanted to scale back the Multiverse elements for a smaller, more grounded story, while Rothman sought to build on ‘No Way Home’s success by bringing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield back as their respective versions of Peter Parker.
Tom Holland commented on the fourth solo ‘Spider-Man’ movie in an interview:
“We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect. The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing.”
The film is currently slated for release on July 24, 2026, with filming expected to begin in the middle of next year. However, depending on how much of the existing script requires revision, production delays remain a possibility.
