In a recent interview with Men’s Health, Tom Holland revealed what would end his career.
“When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore,” the actor explained. “Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth.”
Holland has talked about retiring or taking breaks before. In 2023, he took a break after working on ‘The Crowded Room’ for Apple TV+, according to NDTV. He said at the time, “I loved the learning curve of becoming a producer. I’m no stranger to hard work, I’ve always lived by this idea that hard work is good work.”
He added, “I really enjoyed it but then again, the show did break me. There did come a time when I was sort of, ‘I need to have a break.’ I disappeared. I went to Mexico for a week and had some time on a beach and lay low. And I’m now taking a year off, and that is a result of how difficult this show was.”
Holland also told Total Film in 2021, “I might go and be a carpenter for two years, and take a big break, and come back. Or I might not come back. I might go away, and get married, and have kids, and just disappear for the rest of my life.”
Tom has shared his hopes for the future before. In 2021, he told Access he’d settle down young if the chance came. He stated, “I love romance, and you know, I look back at the times that I was in love, and they’re the happiest of my life. And, you know, I’m in no rush — I am 24. But then again, if it happens, it happens.”
Holland has been dating Zendaya since 2021. He’s set to return as Spider-Man in the fourth movie and might appear in the ‘Avengers.’ He’ll also star in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Odyssey’ in 2026, alongside a big cast including Zendaya, Matt Damon, and Robert Pattinson.
