In a new interview with ComicBook, Shameik Moore gave suggestions for the actor who will play Miles Morales in a live-action version.
“Okay, my honest answer is that I would have to probably have a moment to myself in the mirror and accept,” Moore said when asked about his thoughts on another actor playing Miles Morales and if he had any advice.
The actor added, “But then secondly, it would be me knowing that everything happens for a reason and that that person has a responsibility that is placed on them. That kind of responsibility won’t fall on the wrong person. So it’ll be meant to be.”
“The advice to that person is just to literally embrace who you are and how you’re going to execute this job,” Moore continued his words. “You know, and inspire the community, inspire humanity. That’s it. My advice is, if you ever need to call, you can.”
Moore has brought Miles to life in two animated ‘Spider-Verse’ movies, with a third on the way. Fans love the movies but still want a live-action Miles to join Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. While Moore’s voice is closely tied to Miles, there’s no promise he’ll play the live-action role.
“That’s why I love this movie, because it’s about how we wear that mask,” Moore previously said of what makes Spider-Man relatable. “It really depends on what you find important… These are people that have saved multiple lives, and will continue to save multiple lives. Someone could say they’re crazy. It’s just how they wear their mask.”
He also shared, “I got the role because [of] my heart and Miles’s heart—there’s so many parallels. The essence of Miles, which is really the spirit and the drive, is reflective of my own.”
‘Spider-Verse’ producer Amy Pascal said last year that a live-action Miles Morales movie is in progress, along with an animated Spider-Woman movie featuring Gwen Stacy. Both films will come after the release of ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.’
