The actress Daisy Ridley, who gained recognition for her lead role as ‘Rey’ in ‘The Force Awakens,’ ‘The Last Jedi,’ and ‘The Rise of Skywalker,’ revealed in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly about her role in ‘Twelve Minutes,’ that the job offers almost stopped after appearing in the last ‘Star Wars’ movie.
Ridley, who should have been one of the most recognizable faces on the planet with the character ‘Rey,’ expressed her disappointment regarding that ‘Star Wars’ series did not open new doors for her acting career.
“It was so sad to finish. When the film was released, I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ It was such a huge chapter. And, weirdly, the past few months of not having much… Obviously now it’s really nice to be working, but not having much I feel like I processed the last five years. To be forced to slow down, it was good mentally for me because a big thing in my life.”
The 28-year-old actress said she thought that nobody wanted to employ her after a series of unsuccessful auditions:
“Weirdly, at the beginning of the year, nothing was coming through. I was like, ‘Aww! No one wants to employ me.’ There were actually loads of things that I auditioned for at the beginning of the year and didn’t get any of them.”
According to what she said, finally in March, she got a call about ‘Twelve Minutes,’ an upcoming adventure game published for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Following this offer, she had a moment of thinking that everything is in its right time.
Later, the actress teased certain upcoming projects, which about she is excited, by saying:
“There have been awesome things and obviously no one knows when they’re gonna go. There’s one thing that I’m gonna do that’s super f***ing dark. I was like, ‘Do we need something this dark?’ But it’s also really interesting and about memory and everything’s a bit fragmented. I definitely feel like what I wanna watch and I guess to be part of is something with some joy. That’s what people need.”
