Hollywood actor Mark Hamill, best known for his portrayal of ‘Luke Skywalker‘ in the ‘Star Wars‘ film series took to his verified Instagram in order to honor actor and comedian Dick Van Dyke.
Hamill, who was nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards in 2019 for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program, posted a series of photos of the 95-year-old star and thanked him for being an “international treasure” for the United States.
The Saturn Award-winning actor continued:
“SHOUT OUT to the incomparable Dick Van Dyke for no particular reason, other than giving the world a lifetime of great performances both comedic AND dramatic, being an #InternationalTreasure, while remaining a down-to-earth, genuinely nice guy. Thank you sir!🙏🎭🤣😢”
Even though Hamill wrote that was a shout out for no particular reason, he shared the post a day after Grammy Award-winning Van Dyke’s 95th birthday.
Due to not mentioning the birthday, a great number of Instagram users flooded the comment section and asked the ‘Star Wars’ actor to stop random shout-outs because everyone thinks that said person passed away.
Here are some comments:
“Mark don’t scare me like that“
“Sir, you gave me a fu**ing heart attack.“
“Phew I thought this was a death announcement.”
