‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Is ‘Insanely Bonkers,’ Vecna Actor Teases

The show’s last chapter promises to be bigger and more exciting than ever.

‘Stranger Things” final season is shaping up to be the wildest one yet, according to Jamie Campbell Bower.

In a recent interview on the podcast ‘I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario,’ Bower shared that fans should expect a ‘bigger’ and ‘bonkers’ season. He said:

“If you thought last season was nuts, this season is just out of control, wild, like it’s bonkers. It really, really is. It’s bigger. It’s just completely insane. It’s completely insane.”

Bower first appeared as Henry Creel/Vecna in Season 4. He says the 2023 West End play ‘Stranger Things: The First Shadow’ influenced his performance in the upcoming season. This play is set in 1959, and it follows younger versions of the main characters. It also helped Bower understand Vecna better.

New Set Photos Emerged

Filming for Season 5 started in January 2024. It was delayed due to last year’s WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Recent set photos showed Bower filming a scene with newcomer Nell Fisher at the Creel House. You can see them below.

Maya Hawke joined the cast later in the series, but even for her, it was quite emotional to film the final season. She recently said the following:

“It’s already starting to be heartbreaking. I mean it’s the end of a really long journey. Longer for some of my castmates, even, than me. It’s really sentimental.”

The final season will have eight episodes. The first one will be titled ‘Chapter One: The Crawl.’ Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Noah Schnapp (Will), Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan), Winona Ryder (Joyce), and David Harbour (Hopper) will also return to the show.

The first four seasons of ‘Stranger Things’ are available to stream now, and the fifth and final season is expected to premiere next year.
