James Gunn joined the DC Extended Universe with ‘The Suicide Squad’ and is now working with Peter Safran to reboot the universe. Although the studio scrapped all of the previous projects, the director confirmed some of the cast’s return to the DCU. Screen Rant recently asked Flula Borg if he would be one of the actors to reunite with Gunn in the future.
“To speak of chances, I love mathematics, so I’m just going to say the chances I hope are greater than zero,” said the actor. He didn’t confirm or deny a specific project but continued, “Because working with James Gunn was a very wonderful experience. He is the dopest and a wonderful world to play in is the mind of James Gunn. In the real dimension, James Gunn’s brain is where you want to be.”
The DC Studios announced John Cena’s comeback as Peacemaker in his show’s Season 2 months ago. Meanwhile, TDK actor Nathan Fillion joined the DCU as Green Lantern Guy Gardner in the upcoming ‘Superman’ film.
Borg may also take on a new role or reprise his previous one in new productions, although Javelin died in ‘The Suicide Squad’ along with other Task Force X members.
The DC Universe’s first chapter, ‘Gods and Monsters,’ will start with the animated ‘Creature Commandos’ show this December. ‘Superman’ will follow on July 11, 2025, and ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ on June 26, 2026.
David Corenswet will play the new Clark Kent/Superman, and ‘House of the Dragon’ star Milly Alcock will appear as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl.
