Sydney Sweeney Is Rumored To Take The Black Cat Role In ‘Spider-Man’ 4

Marvel might bring the actress in as the famous cat burglar for the next ‘Spider-Man’ installment.

Insider ‘My Time To Shine Hello’ recently claimed on X that Sydney Sweeney received an offer to play Felicia Hardy/Black Cat in ‘Spider-Man 4.’

Sweeney previously appeared as Julia Cornwall/Spider-Woman in Sony’s ‘Madame Web’ but the studio is unlikely to make a sequel or bring the character back in other projects due to the 2024 release’s poor reception. So, there’s a chance for the actress to join the MCU in a different role.

The rumor is yet to be confirmed along with many other details about the fourth ‘Spider-Man’ movie, though. Kevin Feige announced that the project was in the works, but the Marvel head and Sony’s Tom Rothman are reportedly in conflict about the plot.

According to recent talks, while Feige wants to step away from the Multiversal elements in the new project, Rothman seeks to achieve similar success to ‘No Way Home’ by bringing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield back.

Neither studios revealed the official cast for ‘Spider-Man 4’ so far although Tom Holland and Zendaya are sure to return. “We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be,” Holland said in an April interview. “But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect. The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing.”

‘No Way Home’ writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers will write the script for the new Marvel film.
