Tatiana Maslany’s casting in ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’ received backlash from sexist fans in 2022.
The actress recently opened up about the negative reactions in a chat with The Independent. She noted that the show creator, Jessica Gao, expected the sexist comments:
“I think what’s exciting…exciting, ha. I think what’s fun about it is that Jessica Gao built into the story that people were going to troll us. When we started to get the same responses that [Gao] had actually baked into the writing, it felt like part of the fun.”
The Team Behind The Show
‘She-Hulk’ featured guest appearances from Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner, Tim Roth’s Emil Blonsky, and Benedict Wong’s Wong. The nine-episode Season 1 also starred Jameela Jamil, Josh Segarra, Ginger Gonzaga, Jon Bass, and Renée Elise Goldsberry.
Kat Coiro and Ana Valia directed the series Jessica Gao wrote. Coiro and Gao also produced it along with Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum.
Will They Return For Season 2?
The head writer ended ‘She-Hulk’ Season 1 to serve as a potential series finale in case the show didn’t return. She talk about what’s in her mind with Deadline:
“I’ve been writing for TV for a very long time, and you can never, ever guarantee that you’re gonna get another season, especially for a Season 1 show. So, the prudent thing for a writer working on a season one show is to tell a satisfying and complete story so that if it did end that way, you felt like you at least told one full story but still left the door open for, you know, six seasons and a movie.”
Maslany also said the following about the possibility of a new season:
“I don’t think so. I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ‘No thanks.’”
