Actor Tyler Posey, best known for portraying ‘Scott McCall‘ on the MTV teen drama series ‘Teen Wolf‘ appeared as a guest on SiriusXM’s The Jason Ellis Show, and got candid about his personal life including his sexual preference, and addiction.
During the virtual interview, Posey talked about an Instagram post that he posted in August, in which he declared that he had had an involvement with a Transgender woman.
“I woke up one morning and I saw all this stuff on Instagram about these transsexual women who were being beaten and harassed, and there were a bunch of people that were filming the whole entire interaction and laughing at them. Originally I was just shedding light on that, through whatever way that I could.”
Then the actor stated that he had decided to come out as bisexual or pansexual:
“And, then I was hit with wanting just to come out myself with that whole thing and be honest about it. I know there’s a lot of kids that look up to me and I just want to f**king get rid of that stigma you can be whoever you want to be, get with whoever you want to get with, and it doesn’t affect you and it doesn’t affect them. The world’s f**king weird and it should be.”
The actor added that there were too many stigmas on sexuality, and then mentioned his certain substance addiction. Regarding the issue, Posey announced that he was done with harmful habits, and focused on his career.
“I’m now sober and completely working on myself. There are so many tools that I have now at my disposal when anxiety happens when depression happens. Before I got sober, I would numb myself with alcohol or smoking, and numbing away the anxiety and the depression also numbed away all the good stuff.”
Posey, who would star in Netflix’s animated ‘Fast & Furious’ series, said that he became a completely new person by improving his mental and physical health. As a person who hated himself for a long time, according to what he said, Posey started to love himself for the very first time in his life.
“I kind of fell out with everybody that I loved that I know. But now… I love myself for the first time in forever. Things are really, really, really good. It’s really cool.”
