The Academy Launches The Equity And Inclusion Initiative

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences declared the next phase of the equity and inclusion initiative, Academy Aperture 2025.

Through Instagram, The Academy announced the subsequent actions that are related to the equity and inclusion initiative:

“We are excited to announce the next phase of our equity and inclusion initiative. In our efforts to increase representation, we are working to create new industry standards(…)”

Then, regarding the new members of the Board of Governors:

“(…) add new voices to our Board of Governors and expand the Best Picture category.”

According to the initiative program, Academy Aperture 2025, The Academy increases representation and inclusion standards for the Oscars while allows 10 nominees for the Best Picture category.

In addition to the above, The Academy offers greater streaming opportunities through the Academy Screening Room for Academy members.
