‘The Acolyte’ Creator Reveals If Yoda Will Appear In The Show

Leslye Headland’s ‘The Acolyte’ focuses on the rise of the Sith and the peaceful era of the Jedi.

Leslye Headland sat down with ComicBook.com and revealed if Master Yoda will appear at some time in the show.

During the conversation, Headland talked about the possibility of well-known Star Wars characters appearing in ‘The Acolyte.’ When asked about Master Yoda, who would be about 764 years old during the show’s timeline, Headland said:

“Can you imagine if they were like, ‘No problem, you can use Yoda. Not a big deal. Go for it.’? No, there is not.”

Headland implies that getting Lucasfilm’s approval for Yoda’s appearance would’ve been difficult, but she still reassures fans that ‘The Acolyte’ will feature plenty of interesting characters from the Star Wars Expanded Universe and the High Republic multimedia project.

She Says High Republic Era Is A Perfect Backdrop

Headland chose to set ‘The Acolyte’ in the High Republic era because it offers a perfect backdrop for the story she wants to tell. She explained that this period is great for exploring the rise of the Sith and their rule of two:

“It was the rise of the Sith. I mean, how did the rule of two continue through all of this time until Sidious and Maul reveal themselves in ‘The Phantom Menace’?”

The Jedi were very comfortable and did not expect any threats during this era, much like in ‘The Phantom Menace.’

‘The Acolyte’ stars Amandla Stenberg and Lee Jung-jae. This new show will explore a period roughly 100 years before the events of ‘The Phantom Menace.’ ‘The Acolyte’ will premiere on Disney+ on June 4 with the first two episodes, and new episodes will be released weekly.
