The Boys’ Aya Cash Shares Her First Reaction To Prequel ‘Vought Rising’s Insane Script

Aya Cash drops hints about her surprising return as Stormfront.

In a new interview with ComicBook, Aya Cash talked about her first reaction to the script of ‘Vought Rising.’

“No, we don’t actually know yet,” the actress said about whether she knows when ‘Vought Rising’ will start filming. “I’ve read two scripts and they’re absolutely insanely good. But that’s about all I can tell you.”

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, it was confirmed that a ‘Vought Rising’ prequel is being made. It will focus on Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Stormfront (Aya Cash). Not much is known about ‘Vought Rising,’ but it will be set in the 1950s and show the early adventures of these two characters.

Besides ‘Vought Rising,’ Prime Video is also working on ‘The Boys: Mexico’ and a second season of ‘Gen V.’ The creator, Eric Kripke, believes there is a lot of potential to expand the franchise with more stories.

“I think they can and should continue. ‘The Boys’ story is about Butcher and Homelander and these two planets crashing into each other and this particular story doesn’t work without both of them. And you can only keep that going for so long,” Kripke commented on the spinoffs in the franchise before.

He added, “So what I would say is, this particular story is ending, the Butcher-Homelander is ending. But there can be other stories and other corners of the universe. And hopefully, it’s vibrant and perverted enough to allow for those stories. So hopefully, ‘Gen V’ continues, hopefully, a couple other things we have in development continue.”

“We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of ‘The Boys,'” Kripke and ‘Vought Rising’ showrunner Paul Grellong made a statement together. It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought.”

They then said, “We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.”

Cash will next be in HBO’s comedy series ‘The Franchise,’ which is about the craziness of making superhero movies. It follows a struggling team of filmmakers in a tough market. The show, starring Cash, Himesh Patel, Billy Magnussen, and Lolly Adefope, comes out on HBO on October 6.
