Eric Kripke recently told Entertainment Weekly that there’s a ‘fair’ chance Jared Padalecki will appear in ‘The Boys’ Season 5 and possibly reunite with Jensen Ackles on screen. He said:
“The value of that is to break the internet. So we’ll see whether it’s right for the story. But yes, it’s occurred to me that putting those two in a scene together would destroy much of the world, and that’s appealing.”
Padalecki Is Open To Joining ‘The Boys’
Kripke previously added Ackles and ‘Supernatural’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan to the show in the third and fourth seasons. Padalecki showed interest in joining ‘The Boys’ as well after The CW canceled his show, ‘Walker,’ last month. He shared with Deadline last week:
“The answer is yes. We have talked [about a role]. As a matter of fact, we talked today. I think at this point in my acting life, I only want to work on projects that I really care about or with people that I really care about, and obviously Eric [Kripke] and I are indelibly connected forever.”
The Actor Has A Condition
The showrunner already approached Jared Padalecki for a potential role, as the actor revealed in April. He said in a chat with Collider:
“Yeah, he has reached out to me. And, my response to him 90% of the time is, ‘Dude, I’m 41 now with three kids. I’m not 25 and working out three hours a day. I know you’re going to f*cking make me get naked, so give me a heads-up. I’m in, but let me get a nutritionist and a trainer and get in the hyperbaric chamber for eight months before you make me show up.’ But yeah, it would obviously be a lot of fun to see Kripke again and to work on that show, which is a great show that I’m a fan of.”
‘The Boys’ Season 4 started streaming on Prime Video in early June. The eight-episode story will wrap up on July 18.
