The official trailer of the expected comedy-horror film ‘Bad Hair’ was released on October 1, by Hulu.
One of those who first shared the official trailer for the film written, directed, and produced by Justin Simien, was Emmy Award-winning actress Laverne Cox. As one of the stars of the film, Cox wrote the following message alongside the teaser:
“Looks can kill. Stream Bad Hair on October 23, only on Hulu. #BadHairMovie”
‘Bad Hair,’ starring Elle Lorraine, Jay Pharoah, Lena Waithe, Kelly Rowland, Chanté Adams, James Van Der Beek, Usher Raymond IV, Blair Underwood, and Vanessa Williams, focuses on an unexpected story of a young woman who tries to succeed in the image-obsessed world.
The film had been first announced in August 2017 and had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2020.
Regarding the filming process of the movie that set in 1989, director Simien wrote on Instagram just a little after the trailer had been released:
“@tophotograph really wanted to shoot @badhairfilm on 16mm film which allowed us to ground the movie in its time period of 1989. It was great for practical hair fx too because the grain really helped to hide the work. We shot as many effects “in camera” as possible. @ellelorraine giving is life the whole time.”
