HBO Max renewed Kaley Cuoco’s ‘The Flight Attendant’ for a second season after a first season full of success.
The exciting news delivered on December 18, by Chief Content Officer at HBO and HBO Max, Casey Bloys. In a press statement, Bloys said:
“We are delighted that the show has resonated so strongly with audiences and critics. We congratulate Kaley, Steve, Greg, and Sarah, along with the rest of the incredibly talented cast, executive producers, and our partners at Warner Bros. Television on all the success of the first season. I look forward to seeing where Cassie will go next.”
As soon as the announcement had made officially by HBO Max, Cuoco, portraying the main character, alcoholic flight attendant ‘Cassie Bowen,’ took to her Instagram and expressed her excitement regarding the news. Cuoco posted a photo of ‘Bowen’ that sees her in a huge shock and captioned it as follows to celebrate the new season:
“My reaction to the news of a @flightattendantonmax season 2 pick up 😳 omggggggg THANK YOU, EVERYONE, THAT HELPED ME TURN THIS DREAM INTO REALITY ✈️ who’s ready for more?!!?”
Cuoco’s co-star Zosia Mamet also went to Instagram, shared a screenshot announcing the news, and wrote that this year Christmas came early for her & her role mates. Mamet, who plays ‘Annie Mouradian‘ in the series, developed by Steve Yockey, continued:
“Cannot wait to get back at it with all these amazing humans and make more of this show for you all!! Thank you for watching. We hope you enjoyed your complimentary panic attack. Please fly with us again for Season 2!!! @flightattendantonmax @hbomax”
The series, based on Chris Bohjalian‘s novel of the same name, started streaming on November 26, 2020. Starring Michiel Huisman, Rosie Perez, Michelle Gomez, T.R. Knight, Colin Woodell, Merle Dandridge, Griffin Matthews, and Nolan Gerard Funk, received high praises from viewers and critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the comedy-drama series grabbed an approval rating of 98%.
