The Walking Dead’s Pruitt Taylor Vince Joins Superman Cast As Pa Kent

The new DC reboot started shooting this February in Adventdalen Valley, Norway.

Pruitt Taylor Vince will play Clark Kent’s adoptive father Jonathan in James Gunn’s ‘Superman,’ according to TheWrap.

The upcoming film will explore Superman’s efforts to balance his Kryptonian roots with his life in Smallville, Kansas. Vince will star opposite Neva Howell as Martha Kent and David Corenswet as the DC hero.

The 63-year-old actor is taking over the role from Kevin Costner. Costner played Pa Kent in 2013’s ‘Man of Steel.’

DCU’s New Era

‘Superman’ will kick off the new DC Universe as part of ‘Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.’

The cast will include Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Wendell Pierce will join them as the Daily Planet boss Perry White.

Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, and Anthony Carrigan will appear as Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, Mister Terrific, and Metamorpho, respectively. Milly Alcock’s Supergirl is also expected to make her debut in the new movie.

‘Superman’ will be released on July 11, 2025.
