Gillian Anderson rose to fame in the 1990s as Dana Scully on ‘The X-Files,’ which also starred David Duchovny. She reflected on being voted the sexiest woman by fans during that period in her new book, ‘Want.’
“I had a surreal experience in 1996 when I was voted world’s sexiest woman by readers of FHM magazine,” she wrote in a collection of anonymous letters about sexual fantasies from women worldwide (per The Guardian). “A type of worship not far off some of the descriptions in these fantasies.”
Anderson also shared a fantasy of her own as well as stories about her life and career in the upcoming book. She discussed the difference between her everyday life and poses on magazines/photoshoots by saying, “It felt so preposterous to me.”
The actress continued, “If you saw my life and where I am half the time, between work and set and kids and driving and drop-offs and pick-ups and all that sort of stuff – the fact that you’d end up with those pictures is just so…”
Gillian Anderson gave birth to her first child during ‘The X-Files’ Season 2 and went on as a working mom until the series ended in 2018. Now, production for a show revival is underway with Ryan Coogler.
Specifics of the reboot are under wraps at the moment, but there’s a chance for Anderson and Duchovny’s return.
