This Netflix Horror Movie Has 1/100 Watch Rate As It’s Way Too Much Scary

Be warned – it might be too scary to watch alone at night.

There’s a horror movie on Netflix that’s so scary that almost no one can finish watching it.

As LadBible reports, only one out of every 100 viewers can make it through the entire film without turning it off. The movie is called ‘Veronica,’ and it was released in 2017. It is a Spanish horror film that takes place in Madrid in 1991. It follows a teenage girl named Verónica (Sandra Escacena.)

Verónica tries to contact her dead father by holding a séance at her school using an Ouija board. Things go wrong, and she starts to believe that she’s being haunted by a dark spirit at home. The haunting becomes more intense and starts affecting not just her but also her younger siblings.

One person wrote on X:

“Veronica on Netflix was based on a true story and if that doesn’t freak you out a little you may need Jesus.”

Another said,

“Okay I’m watching Veronica on my own. I’ve nearly had to turn it off twice… I’m only halfway through.”

People found the movie so scary that they almost cried and had trouble sleeping after watching it.

It’s Based on a True Story

‘Veronica’ is inspired by the real-life events of Estefanía Gutiérrez Lázaro, a Spanish teenager who died in 1991. Born in 1973, Estefanía got interested in the occult as a teenager and used an Ouija board with friends in her school’s basement. A nun interrupted their séance, broke the board, and released a puff of smoke that went into Estefanía.

She suffered from seizures and hallucinations for six months after that. She was seeing shadows, hearing voices, speaking in strange languages, and foaming at the mouth. Sadly, she died from unexplained respiratory failure at the age of 18.

Her family claimed she was haunted by her grandfather’s spirit, who vowed to make their lives difficult. There were strange noises and stains in their house, and a Jesus figure was torn from its crucifix, as noted in police reports.

‘Veronica’ is now available to stream on Netflix.
