Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou is working on a movie adaptation of the popular science fiction novel.
Enlight Media CEO Wang Changtian announced the news during the opening forum of the Shanghai International Film Festival. As per Deadline, the movie is currently in post-production.
Zhang Yimou is a famous director with many famous films to his name. Some of his notable works include ‘Red Sorghum”‘(1987), ‘The Story of Qiu Ju’ (1992), ‘To Live’ (1994), ‘The Road Home’ (1999), ‘House of Flying Daggers’ (2004), and ‘Cliff Walkers’ (2021).
He also directed ‘The Great Wall’ in 2016, which starred Matt Damon. Yimou won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. He also directed the opening and closing ceremonies of both the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

‘3 Body Problem’ is a Hit On Netflix
The first season of ‘Three-Body Problem’ premiered in March, and it has already been renewed for a second season. A third season is also in the works. The show is created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss along with Alexander Woo. You may know Benioff and Weiss from ‘Game of Thrones,’ as they were the showrunners of it.
‘Three-Body Problem’ series is based on the award-winning novel by Liu Cixin. The story is a science fiction epic that spans decades and involves an alien invasion. As per Netflix, the official synopsis reads:
“A young woman’s fateful decision in 1960s China reverberates across space and time to a group of brilliant scientists in the present day. As the laws of nature unravel before their eyes, five former colleagues reunite to confront the greatest threat in humanity’s history.”
