Actor and filmmaker Tom Hanks urged Americans to protect their right to vote amid the chaos with the United States Postal Service and President Trump. As known, President Donald Trump stated that he opposed giving billions in funding to the mail-in voting service, the other day.
The ‘Saving Private Ryan’ actor Hanks, known as a typewriter enthusiast, uploaded a post that reads a message written in a typed letter:
“We will vote.
Neither snow nor rain, nor heat nor gloom of night…
Will keep us from voting. ”
The actor, who marked as an American cultural icon, continued by encouraging people to save their rights for voting:
“Register to vote. Cast your vote. Protect your right to vote.”
He concluded his message by writing “USA – 2020” and did not allow comments on the post. However, almost 360.000 fans liked it and showed their support in this way.
Tom Hanks is not the only notable name to have warned voters regarding the mail-in voting issue; a few days ago Taylor Swift also took Twitter and called on Americans to “vote early” against “calculated dismantling.”
