Tom Hardy revealed which Spider-Man he wants to face in a potential crossover.
Speaking during a panel at New York Comic Con, Hardy shared his excitement about the idea, saying, “I would love to fight Spider-Man. I would love to fight him now. I’m happy to fight Spider-Man today, 100 percent. I would never say never. We were specifically set up to bring Venom to a movie format, and that’s what we’ve done. ‘The Last Dance’ is the final piece in that trilogy, and we’re really excited about that.”
When asked which version of Spider-Man he wants Venom to take on, Hardy didn’t hesitate to choose Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. “Tom Holland, without a shadow of a doubt,” he said simply.
This comes just days before the release of ‘Venom: The Last Dance.’ It’s the third and final movie in Sony’s ‘Venom’ trilogy. The movie marks Hardy’s fourth time playing Eddie Brock. Hardy is eager for Venom to face off against Spider-Man, but he says a crossover would depend on the partnership between Sony and Marvel Studios. “Should both sides be willing, and it be beneficial to both sides, I don’t see why it couldn’t be,” he notes.
Hardy last appeared as Venom in the mid-credits scene of 2021’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’ Eddie Brock was briefly pulled into the Marvel Cinematic Universe by a spell cast by Doctor Strange in that movie, but he never got the chance to meet any of the three Spider-Men. He spent his time at a bar in Mexico before being sent back to Sony’s universe.
In ‘Venom: The Last Dance,’ Eddie Brock and Venom are on the run. They are being hunted by both the military, led by Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Knull.
‘Venom: The Last Dance’ hits theaters on October 25, 2024.
