Tom Holland will reportedly join Matt Damon in Christopher Nolan’s new movie. Nolan will serve as writer and director for the project, which Universal Pictures will distribute much like ‘Oppenheimer.’
The director will also produce with his wife Emma Thomas under their company, Syncopy. They plan to start production in early 2025, and it’s concerning for Marvel fans who have been waiting for ‘Spider-Man 4.’
According to reports, Holland will have to work on Nolan’s film and ‘Spider-Man 4’ at the same time. He might also squeeze ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ in the schedule.
The fourth installment in Marvel’s ‘Spider-Man’ franchise has been in the work for some time. There’s yet to be a confirmed release date for the movie though Destin Daniel Cretton is confirmed as director.
Rumors say ‘Spider-Man 4’ will premiere between 2026’s ‘Doomsday’ and 2027’s ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ with a multiversal storyline featuring Venom, but the script is still in development.
Holland shared updates about the ongoing work in a new episode of ‘The Rich Roll’ podcast last week. “It needs work,” he shared, “but the writers are doing a great job and I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together and we at times were like bouncing around the living room.”
As for Nolan’s film, the plot remains under wraps. Sources claim the setting is not the present though it’s unclear whether it’s in the future or the past.
