Tom Holland Joins Nolan’s Mystery Masterpiece And Knows… Nothing?

It seems the actor doesn’t know anything more than what the audience knows about the movie at the moment.

Tom Holland has secured a leading role in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming movie but has very little information about its plot details, according to a recent talk on ‘The Dish’ podcast.

“It hasn’t started shooting. To be perfectly honest with you I don’t know anything about it,” the Spider-Man actor shared (via ComicBook). “I’m super excited. Everything is very-very hush-hush. I met with [Nolan]. It was awesome. He kind of loosely pitched what it was. And I’m sure when he’s ready, he’ll announce what it is.”

Holland is still looking forward to the project and his reunion with girlfriend and Marvel co-star Zendaya on set. “Yeah, best thing that’s ever happened to me,” he told the podcast. “It’s just that perfect thing when you’re on set and a director will give you a note that maybe you don’t agree with, or I know that she doesn’t particularly like, and it’s just that, like, familiar glance at each other of like, can’t wait to talk about that later.”

Nolan’s latest also stars Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, Matt Damon, and Robert Pattinson.

Speculation about the movie’s plot was going wild online before any official details were confirmed. Predictions varied from a 1920s horror story about vampires to a narrative centered around helicopter pilots. But Universal Pictures eventually released the official plot shortly after Holland’s interview.

“Christopher Nolan’s next film ‘The Odyssey’ is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology,” the studio announced in a Monday post on X. “The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.”

Homer’s ancient Greek poem follows King of Ithaca throughout his dangerous return home after the Trojan War, where he encounters the likes of the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens, and the witch-goddess Circe. How Nolan’s take on the story will differ from previous versions is to be seen though more information is likely to come as production is expected to start early next year.
