Tony Okungbowa, the former resident DJ for ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ took to Instagram the other day and spoke out about his experience on the show.
Okungbowa released a photo of himself from the days he had been working as a DJ on the show and captioned it with a message to be in solidarity with former workers of the show, who accused Ellen and the management of racism, bullying, and sexual misconduct. He wrote:
“Hey Guys,
I hope you are all keeping safe out there during these trying times. I have been getting calls asking me about the Ellen Degeneres Show and I would like to address the time I spent there.”
Okungbowa continued by confirming the toxicity on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show:’
“I was on-air talent from 2003-2006 and from 2007 -2013. While I am grateful for the opportunity it afforded me, I did experience and feel the toxicity of the environment…”
Then he stated that he stands with fellow former employees:
“…and I stand with my former colleagues in their quest to create a healthier and more inclusive workplace as the show moves forward.”
After all these accusations, WarnerMedia, the parent company, started a workplace investigation on the show.
