Valorie Curry wished Firecracker not to survive the fifth and final season of ‘The Boys.’ She recently told The Hollywood Reporter at San Diego Comic-Con 2024:
“I hope she dies. She has it coming from many people. She’s awful. She’s horrible. I hope she dies. I hope it’s not because of the meds, because that seems too easy. It should be Sage (Susan Heyward), right? It should be Sage, and then she should survive and have a spinoff. I hope she dies.”
The new mutant appeared as a satire to divisive and extreme political views as well as hateful opinions on topics from vaccines to CIA conspiracies in Season 4. The actress even said some of her lines were direct quotes from real politicians.
Curry Enjoyed Playing Firecracker
Firecracker’s political views, especially on the LGBTQ+ community, contrasted with Curry’s, as she identified as a lesbian. But the actress said she enjoyed playing the Super:
“It sounds so gross to say, but I really connected with her right off the bat. [I’m happy to play someone] so vocally anti-trans and homophobic [because] it should be somebody from the community who’s getting to make a clown out of her. So, there isn’t any ambiguity.”
Valorie Curry also noted her appreciation for how ‘The Boys’ addressed political and social topics through the years, although it faced criticism from some viewers because of it.
All seasons of ‘The Boys’ are streaming on Prime Video.
