Vin Diesel Confirms The ‘Fast & Furious’ Franchise Is Done After The 11th Movie

The Fast & Furious series, loved by many for its fast cars and action, is coming to an end.

In a recent announcement to fans via his Instagram, Vin Diesel has confirmed what many had speculated: the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise will conclude with its 11th installment. This revelation comes amidst preparations for the next chapter in this high-octane series, underscoring the end of an era for one of cinema’s most enduring action sagas.

In the post, Diesel shared insights from a recent meeting with the franchise’s writers and team. Expressing the excitement surrounding the series finale, he wrote:

“We just finished our end-of-the-week Fast meeting with the writers and the whole team… to say the excitement for our finale was incredibly powerful is an understatement. Wow. So exciting… While everyone was heading into the weekend amped and excited, I thought of you all… reminded of the countless moments when your enthusiasm and passion became the driving force behind our creative journey. Your commitment to our saga has had a unique impact on its success and evolution… as my youngest daughter would say, it’s profound.”

Taking the opportunity to thank fans for their support over the years, Diesel continued, dubbing the upcoming movie as ‘grand finale’:

“Thank you for being the backbone of this global saga that because of you, transcends the screen. This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together. Hope to make you proud!”

When Will ‘Fast & Furious 11’ Be Released?

‘Fast X,’ the franchise’s tenth main installment, premiered on May 12, 2023, in Rome and saw its United States release a week later. The movie, one of the most expensive ever made with a budget of $340 million, grossed $714 million globally, becoming the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2023.

Looking ahead, a sequel to ‘Fast X ‘is already in the pipeline, with a release date set for April 4, 2025. Additionally, a standalone sequel titled ‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Reyes,’ starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Momoa, has been announced.

Reports suggest the 11th film will mark a return to the franchise’s original themes, focusing on a singular mission and introducing a new antagonist. This approach aims to bring the series full circle, offering a nod to the simpler street-racing culture of 2001.
