Viola Davis And Husband Vote For Being The Change They Want To See

Academy Award-winning actress Viola Davis announced that she and her husband Julius Tennon, voted in the 2020 presidential election to end racism, violence, and inequality in the United States of America.

Davis, who urges people at every turn to vote in the upcoming election, posted a photo of herself wearing a sweater an ‘I Voted’ sticker on, with Tennon, and added a caption that reads:

“WE Voted!! This is a year of wokeness and understanding that we have to be the change we want to see.”

Then the ‘How to Get Away With a Murder’ actor celebrated the power of voting by quoting from Martin Luther King, the most dominant figures in the civil rights movement:

We’ve got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn’t matter with me now. Because I’ve been to the mountaintop. And I don’t mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will. And he’s allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I’ve looked over. And I’ve seen the promised land.”

Davis added that the vision and potential of the country cannot happen with complacency and/or apathy. The actor concluded her message by saying:

Vote! Like your very breath depends on it 💛💛🙏🏿🙏🏿VOTE! VOTE!!”
