The holder of the “Triple Crown of Acting,” Viola Davis updated her Instagram feed with a never-seen-before video of the actor, Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in August when he was just 43.
Davis posted the video, in which Boseman is seen playing guitar on the set of the film ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom‘ where he portrays Ma’s trumpeter ‘Levee Green,’ and captioned it as follows:
“THIS was Chadwick! A gift. 👑💛🙏🏿 #MaRaineyFilm #BTS #Netflix 🔁@thechadwickrealm”
Following the post, a great number of Instagram users flooded to comment section. The official Instagram page for the film, directed by George C. Wolfe and written by Ruben Santiago-Hudson released the following words to honor Boseman legacy:
“Truly talented beyond words.”
Also, Golden Brooks, Elaine Welteroth, Amirah Vann, Holly Robinson Peete, and Stephanie Mills left comments on the post to remember him.
In addition to his skills on guitar, according to news released by the film’s producers, the ‘Black Panther‘ actor actually learned how to play trumpet for his role. ‘Levee Green’ was the last film role of Boseman, who died after a four-year battle with colon cancer.
